Having Fun with Altered Pages

Hi Everyone!  I'm Peg Rounds and I am so happy to be a new design team member for Altered Pages!  I'm am having so much fun already here.

Today I'd like to share with you a quick late night project that I did using items from the Altered Pages store.  The only thing on this that was not from there is the ribbon because I didn't have any, but that's changed.  It's now on it's way!  Be sure to check out the cool ribbon by Glitz they carry here

I love making tags.  Besides being used for gifts they can also be used for fun things such as bookmarks.  If you're like me and love to read, you can never have enough bookmarks.  At night I often want to work on one of my craft projects, but am too tired or it's too late to start something large so I will sit and create a tag.

On this one, I used the manila tags for a base.  They help to make the project sturdy and allows you to stamp or write a saying on the back if you'd like to decorate it, too.  I added the patterned paper by Glitz to the tag and then cut around it.  I inked the edges using the deep brown ink by Maya Road and added the butterflies using the Beautiful Butterflies Collage Sheet.  A really fun thing about the collage sheets from Altered Pages is that you can purchase them digitally and print them yourself or you can buy them and have Altered Pages print them out on the choice of paper you choose from their drop down menu  on the site and mail them with your order.    Either way, you will always have some gorgeous collages to use!  How fun is that?

Now that you have seen my late night crafting project be sure to go check out the Altered Pages website.  You won't be able to resist getting some fun things of your own!

Dream!  Create!  Inspire!

  1. Hi Peg! I like your cute tag. I want to do some!
Say, I was trying to make a post on my current project but haven't been able to find where to do it. I feel like a dummy trying to figure this stuff out.

Hope your day is a creative one,
    Ingrid

  2. Okay I found it. I've got 2 google accounts and 2 emails and I can't keep them straight. Very irritating. So I realized that if I went back to my blog and go through my dashboard (not art-associates which isn't there - DUH!!!)I can then make my comments. I hope I'm not the only one who has technological delayed syndrome or TDS. I just made that up;)!

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
